Green Building Consulting
Many developers and builders do not have the bandwidth to manage the sustainability side of a project. Ekocentric can provide that additional layer of management to a construction project so your sustainability and resilience goals are achieved and monitored. We provide consulting for LEED BD+C, LEED Green Rating and Florida Green Building Coalition Standards. We are also an ENERGY STAR Partner providing verification services.
LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design), The National Green Building Standard, ENERGY STAR and Florida Green Building Certification are some of the esteemed programs dedicated to promoting sustainable building practices. LEED, established by the U.S. Green Building Council, sets the standard for sustainable construction worldwide. This voluntary certification system evaluates various aspects of a building, such as energy efficiency, water conservation, and materials usage, to ensure minimal environmental impact. Conversely, the Florida Green Building Certification program, initiated by the Florida Green Building Coalition, focuses specifically on the state's unique environmental challenges. It prioritizes factors like hurricane resistance, water management, and native landscaping. Both LEED and the Florida Green Building Certification acknowledge the importance of sustainable development, facilitating a greener future in the built environment.
Certified RESNET Home Energy Rater (HERS Rater)
Energy efficiency and managing conditioned air space is a key part of all of the sustainability programs. We provide a certified HERS index using a blower door test and duct testing on homes and multifamily projects. RESNET HERS ratings may be required as part of building codes or certifying a home in one of the Green Building programs. RESNET 4510618
LEED Green Rater & LEED AP consulting
LEED Certification can encompass the use of a Green Rater who validates and provides progress reports to the LEED AP and project teams. As a Green Rater, we work with the planning, development, certify and construction teams to ensure the certification process is being managed and all points are earned as well as verified. LEED AP BD+C consulting is available for the project team as well as a Homes oriented LEED Green Rating Services. LEED has several specialties for buildings that are industry specific and seeking specialty certifications.
Florida Green Building Certify Agent
For builders, architects, lenders and developers looking to enhance their projects with a Green Building Certification, Ekocentric is ready to help. This program also offers options for Land Development, High Rise Residential, Commercial Buildings and Renovations. We work in a consultative approach to helping you achieve a level of sustainable building following the Florida Green Building Coalition’s metrics.
